What To Do With Your Mickey Balloons

Have you ever purchased a balloon while vacationing in Walt Disney World?  What did you do with it at the end of your trip?

Many visitors have passed the magic and given their balloon away to a very surprised and excited child.  Some have left their balloons for the mousekeeping.  But, did you know there is another option to bring the magic home with you?

If you are flying out of the Orlando International Airport (MCO), take your balloon to the Earport!  The Disney Store inside the airport located before the security check point will DEFLATE your balloons so you can pack them away and take them home!

What a great souvenir to take home with you!

Top 5 Things to do at Walt Disney World in the Rain

The rain in Disney falls mainly on your vacation.  While we plan for days, weeks, months or even years for a Disney vacation, we may forget Mother Nature has a different plan.  Remember, a rainy day in Disney is better than a sunny day at home or work!  So what are you supposed to do now?  Here are some ideas if rain is in your vacation forecast.

5. Enjoy the indoor attractions.
Many attractions at Walt Disney World are held indoors.  Take advantage of the dry shelter while you still play!  Some examples are:

EPCOT – Ellen’s Energy Adventure, Innoventions, and Land or Sea pavilions
Magic Kingdom – Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, and Monster’s Laugh Floor
Hollywood Studios – The Great Movie Ride, The Magic of Disney Animation, and Muppet Vision 3D
Animal Kingdom – Finding Nemo – The Musical, and Festival of the Lion King
Downtown Disney/Disney Springs – Disney Quest, Splitsville, or AMC Movies

4. Go shopping
Gift shops are everywhere.  Take some time to pick out your souvenirs to take home.  And don’t forget to take advantage of Disney’s Package Delivery Service.  If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can arrange to have your purchases delivered to your hotel instead of carrying them around with you all day.  Or if you want to take it back to your resort at the end of the day, they can be delivered to a designated location near the front entrance for convenient pick-up as you exit the park. Not enough room in your luggage? Disney can ship your items to your home for an additional fee.  For any of these options, simply tell the retail cast member during time of purchase and arrangements will be made quickly and easily.

3. Eat, drink, and be merry!
Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack time?  Grab a seat and enjoy the break.  We all know Disney isn’t the most relaxing vacation.  So enjoy the down time and people watch, take in the atmosphere, and nosh on some tasty treats.

2. Monorail Tour
If you are in the Magic Kingdom resort area, hop aboard the monorail.  Check out each of the beautiful Disney resorts.  Make an event of it.  Visit each bar, have a cupcake crawl, or collect pressed pennies from each location.  It’s especially beautiful during the holiday season.  Change monorails at the Ticket and Transportation Center and visit EPCOT, or just relax and enjoy the ride.

1. Have poncho, will travel.
Grab a poncho, they come out of the woodwork when it starts to rain, and go have fun!  My poncho and small travel umbrella never leaves my backpack.  I also recommend bringing a baseball cap.  The front of the poncho never seems to cover my face properly.  As long as it’s safe to be outside go for it.  Jump in a puddle and start singing in the rain.
